Job Summary

Job Responsibilities

Job Summary

Job Responsibilities

  • Verify, track, and maintain inventory of optical, electronic, and fiber related materials.

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Alignment Operator to support the precision assembly, alignment, and verification of advanced optical products. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical aptitude, a quality-focused mindset, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-paced engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead precision optical and mechanical alignment processes, including setup, optimization, and verification of advanced alignment equipment.
  • Develop, validate, and improve optical and microelectronic alignment workflows to support new product development and NPI builds.
  • Analyze process and measurement data to drive yield improvements, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Support rapid turn prototype builds and production readiness in a fast paced engineering environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent hands-on experience).
  • Proven experience in precision alignment, optical assembly, or high-accuracy manufacturing environments.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with small, delicate, or high-precision components.
  • Proficient mechanical knowledge and experience using hand tools.
  • Ability to accurately follow detailed procedures, drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Proficient in basic computer operations and Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail oriented COB Operator (Chip on Board) to join our Production team. The COB Operator will be responsible for performing precision assembly, bonding, and inspection of chip on board components used in fiber optic and photonic products. This role requires strong manual dexterity, attention to detail, and the ability to follow detailed engineering and quality procedures in a clean manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform Chip-on-Board (COB) assembly processes, including die attach, wire bonding, epoxy dispensing, and curing.
  • Operate microscopes, bonding equipment, SMT tools, and precision instruments with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Follow engineering drawings, work instructions, and standard operating procedures to ensure consistent build quality.
  • Inspect COB and SMT assemblies for alignment, workmanship, and compliance with quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate production, process, and quality documentation.
  • Support basic SMT line operations as needed, including machine setup, loading components, and monitoring line performance.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical or vocational training preferred).
  • 2+ years of experience in COB (Chip-on-Board), micro assembly, SMT line operation, or precision electronics manufacturing.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand tools and precision assembly equipment.
  • Ability to work under a microscope for extended periods.
  • Proficient in basic computer operations and Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in fiber optics, photonics, optical transceivers, or semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Hands-on experience with SMT line processes such as solder paste printing, pick and place, reflow, and AOI.
  • Knowledge of quality standards, inspection techniques, and cleanroom protocols.
  • IPC or related electronics manufacturing certifications.

Job Summary

The Electronics & Testing Engineer will support the transition of new optical and electronic technologies from R&D into prototyping and production by leading hands on and automated testing of complex electronic and electro optical systems. The role includes developing and executing test plans, managing test stations and procedures, selecting test equipment, documenting test designs and operating procedures, and training production staff on equipment use and result interpretation throughout early production and product maturity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Test and validate next generation optical and electronic technologies as they transition from R&D to prototyping and production.
  • Lead hands on and automated testing of complex electronic and electro optical systems.
  • Develop and execute prototype and pre production test plans, manage test stations and procedures, and support test equipment selection and procurement.
  • Design, document, and maintain test equipment and operating procedures, and train production staff on their use and data interpretation.
  • Collaborate across hardware, software, R&D, and QA/QC teams, including participation in software testing activities.
  • Troubleshoot hardware failures, recommend design improvements, and create supporting documentation.
  • Design, build, and validate automated and semi automated test systems for prototype evaluation and production quality control.
  • Coordinate internal compliance testing, cross facility testing efforts, and external NRTL laboratory testing.

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, Engineering Physics, Computer Science or a related field with 5+ years of relevant engineering experience; exceptionally skilled candidates with 10+ years of experience will also be considered.
  • Graduate degrees (MASc, MSc, M.Eng, Ph.D.) with substantial hands on laboratory components may be counted toward experience requirements.
  • Proven experience developing, implementing, and executing electronic hardware test plans.
  • Preferred experience with one or more of the following technologies: DSP, ADC/DAC, Optical Amplifiers, TIA, Photodiodes, Optical Filters, Optical Waveguides, PICs, Optical Splitters/Couplers, Optical Switches/Power Meters/, VOA, End-Face inspection equipment, OSA, Microcontrollers.
  • Basical understanding of memory and bitwise operations.
  • Experience with PRBS and BERT.
  • Some knowledge of implementation of optical FEC.
  • Highly organized, self directed, and able to meet technical and project goals with minimal supervision.
  • Strong professional communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands on experience testing and validating electronic and electro optical systems, from early prototypes through production release.
  • Proficiency with hands on and automated test methods, including the use of laboratory instruments and production test equipment.
  • Experience developing, maintaining, or supporting automated or semi automated test stations for prototype verification and production quality control.
  • Familiarity with failure analysis, root cause investigation, and test driven design feedback in collaboration with hardware, software, and quality teams.
  • Exposure to compliance, qualification, or certification testing, including coordination with internal labs or external/NRTL test facilities.

High-Speed Optical and RF Assembly Technician

We are currently seeking a Quality Engineering Technician to join our Quality team.

Job Summary

This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including R&D, design, testing, wire bonding, die bonding, and alignment engineering. The position reports directly to engineering leadership and supports full-time operations in a fast-paced, high-growth environment focused on advanced technologies, including RF systems and high-speed optical modules (800G / 1.6T).

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform precision assembly of RF, MIC, and high-speed optical (800G / 1.6T) circuits, including die attach, component placement, and interconnect processes under a microscope.
  • Execute wire bonding (ball, wedge, and ribbon bonding) on RF substrates and high-frequency circuits using industry-standard equipment (e.g., West Bond, Mech-El), ensuring mechanical integrity, bond strength, and electrical performance.
  • Perform die attach operations using a variety of epoxies and solders, maintaining alignment accuracy and long-term reliability.
  • Apply proper component handling techniques, including ESD-safe practices, contamination control, and handling of sensitive RF and optical devices.
  • Perform component removal and replacement (swapping) and precision rework, ensuring no leakage, damage, or degradation to RF/optical performance or reliability.
  • Work in accordance with applicable standards: MIL-STD-883, IPC-A-610, J-STD-001.
  • Assist in the development and optimization of assembly methods and processes for new designs.
  • Operate and maintain precision equipment including wire bonders, bond pull testers, reflow stations, and plasma cleaners.
  • Perform inspection and measurement using microscope-mounted reticles, calipers, micrometers, and high-precision tools (±0.001” tolerances).
  • Read and interpret schematics, BOMs, travelers, and process procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to cleanliness, reliability, and high-frequency signal integrity requirements.
  • Utilize basic computer applications for documentation and communication.

Minimum Qualifications (Education and Experience)

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 7+ years of related experience.
  • Associate degree or technical equivalent, 3+ years of related experience.
  • Military or equivalent technical training and 4+ years of relevant hands-on experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with high-frequency RF and high-speed optical assemblies (800G / 1.6T).
  • Hands-on experience with wire bonding, die attach, component removal and replacement (rework/swapping), and precision rework processes.
